MISE EN SCENE OF THE SCARY MOVIE 4 POSTER
I think the poster of the movie Scary movie 4 is an good example of a Mis en scene because it has used a dark background cannoting that the genre could possiblybe a horror but the poster also has alot of colourful clothing wich could represent the comedy genre. The poster shows not only the characters that are in the movie but also fiction characters that have been other horror or thriller movies.
The design of the poster is the characters sitting down all together in a dark cinema, with the title Scary Movie in bold red writing this could signify that it beeing a scary move that blood will be expected in the film.
The poster connotes that facial expressions on the characters faces show fright but doesnt really convince viewers that the film is completly a horror as some characters have funny, excited expressions this dennotes that the film has aspect of horror but could mainly be a comedy.
Preliminary task
In this task we wre asked to film a 2 minute thriller sequence from a storyboard we created in a group of 4 .
This was done by sorting out the characters set to play a part in the scenes and filming all the shots in the locations choosen for are scenes.
The outline of the story is about a female student (Rebbecca)being haunted by a girl who comitted suiside in result of being bullied by the student and her friend, she continues to follow her and seeks revenge.
At the start of the sequence we used a point of view shot as Rebbecca was washing her hands so the audience can view the action through her eyes ,I then downloaded a Soundtrack and placed it within the sequence to give the audience an idea of what genre it is.
At this point of the editing i was aware that there was a few jump cuts remaining in the film that could have been corrected as those parts were cut to soon.
As she looked in the mirror the girl is seen in the reflection but when she turned around she was not there as she looked around we used an eyeline match shot so the audience can see what she is viewing as she looks around this is done with an over the sholder shot to show that no one is around. This leaves enigma codes towards the audience making them wonder who she saw in the reflection or wondering if she seeing things or was the person acually behind her.
An High angle shot is made while she runs up the stairs then a close up on her hand on the handel as she opens the door to enter the room as she enters a dolly shot is used to follow her movement as she walks in between this shot the soundtrack is cut an silence remains within the scene.
A tracking shot is focused in Rebbecca's foot steps as she walks around a table to make tea ,we then used a tilt shot focused on the front of Rebbecca's legs to signify that she is being watched from under the table .
Slower ans slightly quiter soundtrack was used in this part to build tention and suspence within the scene we decided to use omnicient narration this was done using a tilt shot going down from the back of her legs then seeing the girl hiding under the table watching her making the audience aware of this but not the character.
A close up was used of when the girl grabed her legs but when Rebbecca looked under no one was around, with her tea she sat down in a seating area were she was joined by her friend here we filmed a two shot sequence and added some dialog.
A close up is made on Rebbecca's shakey hand movement as she makes an attempt to drink her tea. A mid shot is used to show the friends reaction loocking confused ,when asked "Are you allright?"
Rebbecca explains to the friend that the girl they used to bully not only committed suicide but is now been haunting her,a close up is shot of the friend and she gives a careless reaction showing us that she thinks she is crazy ,instantly the doors start to shake making them jump then a fade out was added to end the scene.
